Prysmian Group with Giancarlo Pedote for the legendary Route du Rhum

Prysmian Group and Giancarlo Pedote, ocean sailor and skipper of the IMOCA Prysmian Group, together again for the Route de Rhum, one of the most prestigious events for sailing enthusiasts. The famous solo race will start on Sunday November 6th from Saint-Malo and will end with the arrival in Guadeloupe.

Created in 1978, the Route de Rhum has become a classic of transatlantic solo races. It counts 3.542 consecutive miles, non-stop, from Saint-Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, for a race that takes place every four years and attracts the greatest champions of ocean sailing as well as a few amateurs, as a testimony to the spirit of this initiative.

"Whatever happens, it will be important to sail smartly, so as not to damage the boat. In short, we will have to know how to ride the rough weather even in the trickiest moments," comments Giancarlo Pedote. "We will have no choice but to deal with whatever comes our way. This is something that I have learned quite well over the course of several adventures, including the Vendée Globe. I have to take advantage of having a reliable vessel that I know well and that allows me to push fearlessly," he says.
