We’re proud to present you with the first edition of NExsT magazine, Prysmian’s publication on the worlds of broadband and telecom, in 2024.

 

This edition features a variety of interesting news and views. Antoni Bosch, Senior VP Telecom Solutions, speaks about his recent participation in the  Financial Times – ETNO Tech & Politics forum ‘The power of innovation: Europe's search for tech leadership’, where he discussed smart approaches to sustainability and managing vast data growth. We also look at Starlink’s satellite-based 4G Direct to Cell service which aims to provide satellite internet connectivity to underserved and remote areas worldwide.

 

In our ‘Technology’ section, we examine how researchers at Nokia Bell Labs have established two new world records in submarine optical communications, using higher-baud-rate technologies. Finally, there’s news of main challenges and opportunities to expanding internet access across Africa.
