Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, confirms its commitment to supporting the development of ultra-broadband infrastructures and will present its latest innovations for quality, future-proof networks at several live events in Europe and the Middle East in the coming weeks. In May the Group will be present at ANGA COM in Cologne, the Fiber Connect Council MENA Conference in Dubai, and the FTTH Council Europe Conference in Vienna with booths and speeches at the conferences’ sessions.

At these events, the Group will showcase its range of advanced products able to meet customers’ the evolving needs, including its FlexRibbon™ technology offering extremely flexible ribbon that can be rolled up for high packing densities or laid flat for mass fusion splicing; the Sirocco cable family, including Sirocco Extreme utilising Prysmian’s BendBrightXS 180µm single-mode (ITU-T G.652.D, G.657.A2) bend insensitive fibre, allowing world-record fibre density for network deployment within overcrowded infrastructures; and its full offer for optical connectivity solutions providing flexibility in design, simple modularity for upgrading and superior quality performance for all cable management needs.

The Group will also play a major role at the conferences’ sessions, with presentations focused on sustainability and Ecoslim, a system comprised of ducts and microduct cables to maximise the available space in access and FTTx networks by offering significantly reduced microduct and cable diameters. A 50% mass reduction means less raw materials for cable and duct production, while the use of recycled PE for all ducts, combined with reduced waste from packaging and cutting losses adds up to around 60% reduced CO2 footprint for networks where Ecoslim is installed.

“As a partner of choice for major telecom operators, Prysmian supports its customers in the development of some of their most important projects with quality products and innovative cabling solutions, to meet the increasingly demanding needs of modern broadband networks,” stated Philippe Vanhille, Executive Vice President Telecom Division at Prysmian Group. “We therefore confirm our commitment to constantly investing in innovation for our optical fibre and cable products to support our customers in developing new reliable and cost-effective broadband networks.”
